Helping students publish since 1994

National Elementary Schools Press Association
National Review and Rating Program

This critique is intended to provide feedback for staffs and advisers of elementary and middle school newspapers in the areas of content, writing, and design. The newspaper rating is to be used as a measuring tool to help staffs see how their newspaper compares with other kindred papers, and to provide recognition for excellence in beginning journalism.

Please fill out all entry information and return with one or two recent issues of your newspaper. The fee for judging is $15 for NESPA members ($30 for non-members) which covers expenses of evaluation, preparation of rating certificate, and postage and handling. You should receive your results in approximately three weeks.

Make checks payable to Carolina Day School and send as a packet to:
NESPA, Carolina Day School, 1345 Hendersonville Road, Asheville NC 28803.

Newspapers will receive one of the following ratings:

Superior - Excellent - Commendable - Satisfactory
